Great Beings of the World
Happy Guru Rinpoche Day
This statue of Guru Rinpoche originally belong to the son of King Trison Deutsen, Mutri Tsepo. He saw Guru Rinpoche when Rinpoche was leaving Tibet for the Copper Colored Mountain. At the time, King Trison Deutsen had already died, Shantarakshita had also died, Vimalamitra had gone to China and Varocana was in exile. In the Cultural Revolution the Katvanga was lost, so Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche made a new one. It was not mentioned how he obtained the statue, but believes that simply seeing this statue (as well as its pictures) can bring liberation. The statue is about 4" tall and you can see in one of the previous pictures where he used it to give us blessings. No automatic alt text available.
