Sampa Lhundrup was originally taught by Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) himself in 8th Century and then hidden as a treasure to be revealed when time is ripe. In Sampa Lhundrup, Guru Rinpoche appears in thirteen different emanations. In addition to Ogyen Menla, there are emanations for averting natural disasters (caused by imbalances of external elements), war and strife, hostilities on the pathways, etc. There are also emanations for enhancing prosperity and general wellbeing.
